Emergency Management Officer

Location: Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland, OH with some travel as needed

A Brief Overview
 

Coordinate Emergency Preparedness Program including the Emergency Operations Manual, training, and exercises.

What You Will Do
 

• Maintain and continually update the Emergency Operations Plan (25%)
• Plan, execute, and evaluate disaster drills &/or events to improve hospital readiness (30%)
• Represent hospital at regional coalition meetings and regional exercises (10%).
• Manage grant funding opportunities and maintain grant funded inventory (10%).
• Document after action reviews and track compliance with improvement plans (10%).
• Maintain inventory of all disaster related equipment and PPE (5%).
• Prepare and execute training in hospital incident command and specialized response teams such as the HERT Team. (5%)
• Respond and support emergency/incidents as they occur (5%)

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
