The role assumes responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem-solving, teaching, and supervision as appropriate, and provides physicians with precise analytical results essential for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate specimens and organize workflow to ensure efficient testing and timely turnaround of results.
- Perform moderate and high complexity testing in accordance with laboratory standards and protocols.
- Apply quality control measures to review test and instrument performance; perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- Monitor and manage inventory of reagents and supplies, communicating needs to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Accurately document, maintain, and archive test results and related data.
- Support quality management initiatives, including training, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities.
- Demonstrate competence across all assigned laboratory procedures to meet performance standards.
- Adhere to University Hospital compliance standards, policies, and applicable federal and state regulations.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific discipline required.
- ASCP certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Certification in Molecular Biology/Molecular Diagnostics is strongly preferred.
