Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Provide outstanding customer service as a Medical Record Technician (Release of Information).
- Assist a wide range of individuals including patients, families, caregivers, external auditors, community physicians, outside agencies, and hospital staff.
- Ensure the accurate, timely, and complete release of health information.
- Respond to requests for medical records via phone, fax, email, written correspondence, or in-person visits.
- Handle inquiries in accordance with hospital and departmental policies.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and privacy standards
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in medical records-related work.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to analyze medical records and interpret physicians’ handwriting.
- Proficient in data entry, typing, and using email applications.
- Must be fluent in speaking and reading English.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and highly organized.
- Demonstrates professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions.
