About the Role

Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Manager of Talent Acquisition ensures that University Hospital’s management is equipped with the necessary human capital for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the facility. The Manager of Talent Acquisition will lead the Human Resources Recruitment team by overseeing full-cycle recruitment and selection efforts. This includes the position approval process, job posting, candidate sourcing and screening, development of a talent pool, and assisting management in interviewing. The Manager of Talent Acquisition will collaborate with UH hiring teams to set early hiring goals, manage timelines for full staffing, retain high-performing staff, and identify appropriate selection models to hire the best candidates for specific areas. This role is responsible for preparing statistical affirmative action (AA) reports for federal, state, and local compliance agencies, as well as for internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Manager of Talent Acquisition will advance University Hospital’s diversity and affirmative action programs through education and training. This includes assisting the CHRO in planning and implementing UH’s affirmative action/equal employment opportunity policies and procedures. The position also leads an aggressive recruitment campaign and selection process to create a large, high-quality pool of applicants and participates in making strategic referrals to fill vacant positions. Overall, this position holds responsibility for the efficient and effective recruitment, selection, placement, and retention of qualified candidates, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Manager of Talent Acquisition ensures that University Hospital’s management is equipped with the necessary human capital for the safe, efficient, and effective operation. The Manager of Talent Acquisition will lead the Human Resources Recruitment team by overseeing full-cycle recruitment and selection efforts.

  • Develops, attends, and accesses recruitment activities, such as job fairs and career days hosted locally, or by the health care settings or other sponsors. Pursue and utilize recruitment resources and linkages with the educational community to enhance recruitment among graduates. Develops strategic relationships with other talent sources.
  • Develops and implement effective diversity recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of talent across all levels and departments of the organization. Utilize creative sourcing methods to identify diverse candidates and build a strong pipeline of candidates.
  • Develops effective methods to enhance the Talent Acquisition program’s efficiency and effectiveness. Manages University Hospital’s online recruitment campaign by implementing target strategies to ensure a strong candidate pool of highly effective operations staff with a focus on critical shortage clinical areas.  Designs and creates University Hospital application content, questions, and process.
  • Coordinates recruitment activities for ancillary and administrative positions.
  • Analyzes trends and projections for workforce staffing.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with management to assure that the goals and objectives of the AAP are being fulfilled and, that the UH’s AA/EEO policies and procedures are being adhered to properly.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Master’s strongly preferred)
  • A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of talent acquisition experience (required).
  • Three (3) years of full cycle recruitment experience (required).
  • Experience with identifying and implementing recruiting best practices.
  • Must have recruited in a high-volume environment, closing complex positions, negotiating compensation packages, and building an innovative and sustainable talent acquisition strategy.
  • Knowledgeable about current market trends and competitive data.
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite and related software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently.
  • Superb prioritizing/time-management/organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Strong ability to build and effectively manage relationships with UH department leaders, and external constituents.
  • Good judgement, impeccable ethics, and a strong team player; desire to succeed and grow in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $111,618.00 - $167,429.00.

 

University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.
