About the Role
The primary purpose of the EMS Coordinator, Clinical Services is to provide operational direction to and assure the clinical product delivered by University Hospital EMS is high quality and aligned with industry’s best practices. The EMS Coordinator, Clinical Services works closely with the EMS Medical Director(s). Key tasks include the direct supervision of EMS Training Supervisors and the Chief Flight Nurse, oversight of the EMT training program, developing quality assurance metrics and processes, developing continuing education programs for Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Specialty Care Transport andJEMSTAR program areas, monitoring clinical credentials, reporting quality metrics, conducting clinical reviews, developing clinical remediation plans, representing the EMS department at hospital wide clinical service line meetings, and representing the EMS department at statewide EMS clinical meetings and committees.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for University Hospital EMS clinical services.
- Ensure EMS clinical care aligns with current best practices and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with EMS Medical Director(s) to guide clinical initiatives.
- Supervise EMS Training Supervisors and the Chief Flight Nurse.
- Oversee the EMT training program and ensure its effectiveness.
- Design and implement quality assurance metrics and review processes.
- Develop and manage continuing education programs for:
- Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Specialty Care Transport
- JEMSTAR program
- Monitor and maintain clinical credentialing for EMS personnel.
- Analyze and report on clinical quality metrics.
- Conduct clinical case reviews and implement remediation plans when needed.
- Represent EMS in hospital-wide clinical service line meetings.
- Participate in statewide EMS clinical committees and meetings.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- Must hold a valid New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) certification.
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a paramedic.
- Prior supervisory experience in EMS is preferred.
- Must be physically capable of:
- Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Lifting instructional materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Kneeling, crawling, climbing, or jumping during simulations or field activities.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)
The expected salary range for this position is $89,072.00 - $111,339.00- $133,609 per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
