Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist III, Virology & Molecular Pathology. The successful candidate will:

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any additional tests or procedures conducted by the virology or serology laboratory.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation methodologies used in clinical virology or serology.
• Good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on virology and serology.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or as business need demands. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASCP Certification.
• Prior virology and serology work experience.
