Operating Room Care Coordinator RN - PRN101 Truman Medical CenterJob LocationUniversity Health 1 (UH1)Kansas City, MissouriThe OR registered nurse provides services in surgical services departments. Provides care for surgical patients with acute, chronic, and/or terminal illnesses. Performs assessments based on the patient's surgery, medical condition, and care needs. Utilizes the nursing process to plan, perform, delegate, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care in the OR department. The OR Clinical Nurse provides mentoring and guidance to Clinical RNs new to the OR department and engaged in department orientation and skills training and testing. Other duties include interdisciplinary team involvement, committees, program evaluations, research, education, and the supervision of students. Performs duties within the scope of the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and established organizational and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Current state of Missouri license as a Registered Nurse or eligible for Missouri RN licensure.
- Current BCLS card.
- If position is responsible for radiologic functions, employee must have received the radiology certification or training in their nursing program or receive training validated through radiology competency checklist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- RN Specialty Certification.
