Job Description
Bring your skills, make an impact, and help keep the revenue cycle rolling smoothly!
Join our team as a Billing & Collections Specialist, where your attention to detail and insurance know-how will help ensure patients are billed accurately and accounts are closed with care.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Taking the reins on daily billing of insurance claims and following up on outstanding balances (both payor and self-pay)
- Monitoring, reconciling, and resolving accounts like a pro — because clean books = happy team
- Navigating complex insurance systems and workflows with ease and accuracy
- Working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and special programs like a seasoned pro
- Acting as our go-to expert on third-party billing processes and regulatory compliance
- Keeping quality high and errors low — your work directly supports our mission and reputation
Tools of the Trade:
- A mix of electronic health systems, Excel, Outlook, and your trusty 10-key calculator
- Familiarity with 837i forms, ICD-10/CPT/HCPC codes, revenue codes, and HIPAA transaction sets
- A good grasp of medical terminology — no need to be a doctor, but bonus points if you can decode acronyms in your sleep
You’ll Thrive If You:
- Have an Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience – we value skill!)
- Bring 2–3 years of experience in a hospital, physician’s office, or insurance billing role
- Know your way around insurance reimbursement and government payors
- Can balance a spreadsheet and handle billing workflows with confidence
- Communicate clearly — both in writing and over the phone — with patients, coworkers, and payors
Bonus Points For:
- A strong sense of ownership and curiosity
- The ability to work independently without losing your team-player spirit
- A sense of humor — because let’s face it, billing can be weird sometimes
