Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing LTC or designee, the LTC LPN Supervisor oversees the daily operations of an assigned unit, ensuring residents receive high-quality care in accordance with established care plans and applicable state and federal regulations. This role provides leadership, support, and supervision to direct care staff while serving as a key advocate for resident well-being and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support direct care staff, including Nursing Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medication Technicians, and LPNs.
- Monitor resident care to ensure compliance with care plans, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Oversee resident admissions, discharges, medication management, documentation, and infection prevention practices.
- Collaborate with Social Services, medical staff, residents, and families to promote coordinated care and positive resident outcomes.
- Participate in staff training, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Provide direct resident care and supervisory support as needed, including participation in on-call leadership rotations.
- Support quality improvement, resident and staff safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Maintain current nursing knowledge, licensure, and professional competencies.
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
- Current Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Experience working as a Charge Nurse in a Long Term Care setting.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- State-approved IV Therapy Certification.
