Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of clerical tasks including logging in specimens, processing samples for reference labs, charting, filing, answering phones, and handling specimen pickup and delivery.
- Provide high-quality phlebotomy services for outpatients (first shift only).
- Greet and assist patients and visitors, providing clear and compassionate communication.
- Maintain orderly and accurate records while managing priorities under direct supervision.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and contribute to an efficient and well-organized work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work with patients of all ages, understanding developmental and comfort needs.
- Written communication skills for taking clear, accurate messages.
- Computer skills with the ability to navigate a Windows-based environment.
- Solid organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to: Availability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.
- Completion of coursework in medical terminology.
- Previous phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
