University Enterprises Inc and Careers
Sacramento, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/21/2026

The ECS Peer-Assisted Learning ( PAL ) is a curricular structure that encourages cross-year support among students in gateway engineering and computer science courses. PAL encourages students to learn cooperatively under the guidance of trained students, called PAL facilitators, who have been very successful in the same course they facilitate, and have been highly trained in group facilitation and pedagogy. PAL facilitators are paid for 8 hours/week to facilitate their PAL sessions, attend lectures of the main course, and hold office hours. In addition, PAL facilitators participate in ENGR 197, a 2-unit graded course (meeting 2 hrs/week) that provides training in pedagogy and group learning as well as opportunities to run through the problem sets prior to their actual PAL session to practice scaffolding.
