Responsibilities
What Does a UDA Custodian Look Like? They look like YOU! As a Custodian at UDA, you are an important and valued member of our team. You are responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and general safety for our patients and fellow team members. This may include the following duties:
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Dusting and polishing furniture
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Emptying trash receptacles in all areas
- Cleaning windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
- Wiping and sanitizing “touch” surfaces
- Removal of debris from all patient and employee areas
- Managing inventory of cleaning supplies
- Performing routine maintenance activities
- Completing minor repairs
- Securing the building after hours
- Reporting and, when appropriate, correcting safety hazards
- Other duties as assigned

What Skills and Experience Does a Successful UDA Custodian Have?
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
- Organization and time management
- Effective communication
- Safety knowledge regarding chemicals used for cleaning, OSHA regulations, and the use of cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and repairs
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
