Position Summary
The Molecular Technician is responsible for performing all aspects of testing (i.e. nucleic acid isolations, qPCR, etc.) in a clinical molecular laboratory environment. This includes collecting and/or receiving patient specimens, including swabs, tissues, DNA/RNA, body fluids, tissue cassettes and histology slides. Operation of sophisticated equipment and instruments in a CLIA environment is required to render the results/data. This individual evaluates and introduces new materials, methods, and equipment to help determine clinical molecular diagnosis. They assist the laboratory team in the development of new methods, technologies and participate in documenting and implementing Quality Assurance (QA)/ Quality Control (QC)/Quality Inventory (QI) procedures.

Education And Experience
Medical Technologist (MT or MLT); or equivalent 4 years experience in a Clinical, Histology or Molecular laboratory **Required**
Experience running lab automation **Required**
Experience with LIMS systems **Required**
