JOB SUMMARY:
University Center Imaging, the leading provider of outpatient imaging services in Brevard County, Florida, is currently seeking a highly professional Mammographer, per diem position available. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to Mammography Technologist, knowledge of exams, analysis of information, patient care, patient education, and compliance. They will also demonstrate competence in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to professional performance expectations and cost effectiveness, productivity, equipment management and radiologists’ protocol.
HOURS: Saturdays, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY INCLUDE:
- Greet and escort patient for imaging procedure.
- Collect and record patient data.
- Interpret physician’s reports.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedure.
- Explain to patient in detail the events that will take place during their exam.
- Answer any questions the patients may have prior to and after the procedure.
- Performs diagnostic examinations using mammography imaging equipment.
- Interpret clinical data provided on requisitions and adjust technical factors if indicated to produce optimal images.
- Complete knowledge of Acquisition station, Soft Copy workstation, tool pad and its functions.
- Knowledge of Laser Printer and Mammography quality assurance requirements.
- Keep accurate, up to date records of all supplies used, report stock level to administrator, and initiate orders to replenish stocks.
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness in work and patient care areas to practice and maintain aseptic conditions.
- Practice sterile techniques in all activities to prevent cross-contamination.
- Provide radiation safety protection to patients in accordance to prescribed HRS safety standards.
- Knowledge of RIS software and call for support when problems arise.
- Knowledge of PACS workstations and its functions.
- Assist in other areas, wherever needed at the center.
- Willing to instruct other technologists/students as see fit.
