Job Description

University Cancer & Blood Center is looking to hire a full-time Check-In Receptionist for our Lavonia and Toccoa locations.

Job Duties

• Greet each patient upon arrival at the front desk
• Check patient into Onco
• Provide forms that need to be completed by the patient
• Verify any changes in insurance coverage
• Scan insurance card(s) and picture ID into the electronic chart
• Collect co-payments and/or unpaid balances as noted for 99% of patients with co-payments and/or unpaid balances noted and log payment
• Inform Patient Financial Navigator of any patient requiring PAR clearance before placing chart for pick-up by lab for 100% of patients requiring PAR clearance
• Balance “drawer” at the end of each day by completing cashier’s report
• Inform patient if schedule is compromised by patient or by practice to establish realistic expectations for “wait time”
• Maintain waiting room such that fresh coffee and hot water are available for patients and the area appears organized and tidy
• Maintain supplies for front desk and assist check-out as needed
  
  

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent is preferred
• Computer skills
• 2-3 years medical office experience preferred
