Albizu University is seeking a dedicated Facilities and Maintenance Staff member to handle general maintenance and repair tasks that ensure the institution’s facilities remain clean, safe, and functional. This role is responsible for addressing basic repair needs, performing inspections, and assisting with facility-related projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the team to support the institution’s operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and general upkeep of building interiors and exteriors.
- Conduct basic repairs, such as patching drywall, painting, replacing light bulbs, and fixing door hardware.
- Perform regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and address basic issues promptly.
- Respond to service requests from staff and faculty, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact on campus operations.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of facilities for events, meetings, and other campus activities.
- Coordinate with vendors or contractors for specialized repairs as needed.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and inventory of basic supplies and equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support facility improvements and upgrades as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic experience in general maintenance or handyman work.
- Ability to perform minor repairs, painting, light carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and confined spaces.
