What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Universal Waste Systems?
The primary role of the Administrative Assistant is to provide administrative support to various departments within the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support to Management and staff
2. Assist with Payroll, AP & A/R
3. Take orders & customer outreach
4. Data entry, copying, filing and other general office duties as assigned
5. Sort and deliver mail to appropriate staff members
6. Other administrative duties as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of:
• Superior administrative service-related techniques and etiquette.
• Modern office practices and procedures including the use of standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, MX Excel & Outlook and other programs
• Use of office-related hardware such as computers, fax machines, copy machines, mailing machines and similar.
Ability to:
• Successfully and independently perform the functions of the job.
• Actively listen to requests and react timely and efficiently.
• Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers.
• Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability.
• Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers.
• Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.
• Effectively and concisely communicate both orally and in writing.
Education, Training & Experience
1. One year of related experience working as an administrative assistant required.
2. High school diploma or GED preferred.
3. Experience in the resource recovery industry a plus.
