- Moves with a sense of urgency while preparing foods. Prepares a variety of product including but not limited to: meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable and cold food items by washing, and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. per recipe. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, mixing and portioning. Weighs and measures ingredients for cooking.
- Carefully supervises food temperatures from cooling and reheating, to ensure that the ingredients kept are kept at a safe and appropriate temperature. Cover, date and correctly store all food items as per safe food-handling procedures.
- Stock and set up area by collecting all necessary supplies and ingredients to prep. Prepare and collect assigned menu items for allocated station. Completes all opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
- Adheres to standards of handling, preparing, serving and holding food products including but not limited to: FIFO, Temperature Danger Zone, cross-contamination.
- Clean and sanitize work stations. Return dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas. Maintain and clean kitchen before, after and during shift.
- Promote and provide extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answer questions, offer information, and provide assistance in a courteous manner.
- Understand and demonstrate the proper use of safety practices and ensure department standards are maintained and safety policies are upheld.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests of all ages, following all company guidelines and protocols.
- Identify, de-escalate, and resolve conflicts or disturbances professionally and effectively to maintain a positive atmosphere.
- Provide a positive and welcoming experience for guests of all ages while maintaining composure during difficult interactions.
- Maintain a high level of trust and integrity to promote a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues of all ages.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years older
- Valid California Food Handler required before first day
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Prep/Line Cook in a full service, high volume Food and Beverage environment.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- $23 per hour
