Job Summary
Universal is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Finance for a well known client of ours to lead their financial operations and drive sustainable growth. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Your expertise will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, optimize financial performance, and support strategic initiatives that propel the organization forward. As a key member of the executive team, you will foster a culture of fiscal responsibility, innovation, and excellence, empowering the organization to achieve its mission with confidence and clarity. This role will oversee the finance and IT departments.
Duties
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage all accounting functions including corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and technical accounting standards such as IAS (International Accounting Standards), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Direct financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management processes to ensure fiscal health and operational efficiency.
- Supervise financial reporting activities including preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and detailed financial analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct risk analysis and develop risk management strategies to mitigate potential financial exposures.
- Oversee treasury management functions such as cash flow analysis, investment management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank relations to optimize liquidity.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and other applicable regulatory reporting requirements.
- Lead strategic business development initiatives by providing financial insights that support growth opportunities and investment decisions.
- Manage audit processes in collaboration with external auditors to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Foster leadership within the finance team by mentoring staff, promoting professional development, and cultivating a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate financial concepts into operational plans while maintaining rigorous control over costs and revenues.
- Utilize advanced financial software tools for account reconciliation, balance sheet management, general ledger accounting, and bookkeepings such as accrual accounting systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA,CMA,MBA, preferred.
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles (10 years ) with extensive knowledge of corporate finance, and complex budgets over $30MM.
- Experience with new system implementation and system administrator oversight.
- Demonstrated ability in business development activities coupled with investment management skills to support organizational growth initiatives.
- Deep understanding of governmental accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting frameworks if applicable.
- Mastery of GAAP with FASB standards related to the company’s status and operations.Knowledge of requirements contained in OBM Circulars A-122 and A-133 relating to federal grantees.
- Proficiency in financial analysis techniques including profit & loss management, cost control strategies, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and budget forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of managing diverse teams within fast-paced environments; ability to inspire collaboration across departments.
- Commitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization’s mission is essential. Excellent communication is a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $165,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
