Maintenance Supervisor Position Summary:
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. The HPP Maintenance Supervisor position, supervises and performs HPP maintenance and electrical operations, and directs the daily operations of a plant maintenance team. The supervisor has a hands-on leadership role in the company and the company’s product-making activities.
Pay range for this exempt position is $80K - $90K (based upon Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
This is a 1st shift position 5:00am – 1:30pm, Monday thru Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use technical knowledge of plant process equipment including electrical, pumps, agitators, and manufacturing equipment to perform job successfully.
- Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures in all Universal Pure equipment and efficiently troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime and to maximize up time.
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
- Procure and maintain appropriate spare parts and equipment inventories
- Leads proactively but responds quickly to urgent matters
- Understand and collaborate with the Plant Engineer in repairs of high-pressure processing and pasteurization equipment
- Collaborates with area Production Managers as needed
- Assigns tasks to respective maintenance staff and manages the quality and timeliness of their completion
- Provides coaching to staff, as needed
- Willing to take responsibility for results while reliably showing good judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness
- Ensures projects are completed on time and on budget
- Develops and manages performance metrics for department and team
- Maintains certifications and regulatory documentation
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Works with Finance & Accounting to create and manage budget
- Provides defined report information to leadership team
- Effectively communicate –convincingly convey instructions, directions, and details to others in English
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, PMs, and inventory
- Willing to work on various shifts and/or extended shift hours as business demand require, primary 1st shift
- Is responsible for all other duties as assigned
- We are looking for a hands-on working HPP Maintenance Supervisor
Maintenance Supervisor Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Maintenance Electrician Certification with Journeyman experience is required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor, Manufacturing or Food Processing required
- Experience – knowledge of OSHA and other governmental regulations; incident and accident prevention required
- Proficient mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills 9PLC, HMI, SCADA system and control circuits) and emergency repair skills required
- Computer skills: Microsoft outlook, Excel, and Work skills required
- Basic math skills: to include fractions, decimals, percentages, and the metric system; efficient with ratios and formulas required
- PLC knowledge, understanding of operations of programmed relays and sensors
- Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw conclusions
- Ability to properly use measurement instruments included but not limited to hydraulic and electrical
- Ability to safely work with ultra-high-pressure equipment.
- Ability to cross-train other Mechanics as well as Production personnel
- Organization – an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the methodologies of Lean Continuous Improvement and apply these concepts where applicable in the operation
- Attention to detail – the ability to manage all duties, rules, documentation, and other components of the job with focus and accuracy
- Confidentiality – the ability to protect data, information, and employee privacy
- Ability to find innovative solutions to recurring problems
Maintenance Supervisor Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Physical activity. Requires occasional heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
- This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures as needed.
