Responsible for the appropriate implementation of all policies and procedures for assigned area and team by Universal Orlando, governing the safe operation of all technical staging equipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions as the point of contact assigned to an Entertainment venue, project, event, or production. Responsible for the appropriate installation/setup, storage, strike, and transportation of staging equipment. Elevates any technical problems or concerns to Lead or management as they occur. Facilitates and troubleshoots with accountability for completion of team objectives from Leads/Supervisor.
- Operates large vehicles and heavy equipment. Lifts and places irregular objects and maneuvers equipment in all directions in challenging spaces.
- Assists Tech I with inventory, maintenance, and inspection of stagging equipment. Submits proper paperwork for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections.
- Responsible for effectively communicating pertinent information, both written and verbal, which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to other disciplines, entertainment tech management, and team members of the venue/event.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Technical School preferred.
- A Valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.
- UO (Universal Orlando) provides annual training which is required for heavy equipment operation.
Required:
- 2-5 Years experience within the assigned technical discipline required.
- Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (Staging) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
