Universal Logistics is seeking experienced CDL A Owner Operators to support a new Amazon-dedicated intermodal port lane running Charlotte Port → Savannah Port. This is a 24/7 drop‑and‑hook operation with legal weight freight, designed for drivers who want consistent work, fast turns, and dependable pay.

This position is based out of our Charlotte, NC terminal and plays a key role in maintaining our high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.

• Amazon-dedicated port lane
• Charlotte Port ↔ Savannah Port
• 24/7 drop & hook
• Legal weight freight
• TWIC required

Responsibilities

• Plan routes to meet delivery schedules efficiently.
• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of equipment.
• Ensure full compliance with federal and state transportation regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs and required documentation.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding load status and lane needs.

Requirements

• 6 months tractor‑trailer experience
• Valid CDL Class A
• TWIC required (HAZMAT preferred)
• Clean driving record
• Familiarity with GPS and navigation tools
• Strong communication skills
• 2005 or newer tractor
