Pricing Analyst

Currently, Universal is seeking Pricing Analyst candidates for our transportation operations.

The Pricing Analyst will be a pivotal point of contact for executive staff on rate and carrier information. They will be implementing and maintaining a new data set that will provide detailed reports on daily rates, freight movement, and revenue. They will design and supply daily and weekly dashboards and assist sales with identifying key performance indicators. They will be retrieving data from multiple programs and consolidating it into these dashboards. They will play a key part in helping grow and expand our business.

Responsibilities and Requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct analysis of revenue and profitability to determine optimal price levels.
• · Process, analyze, and submit complex freight network bid packages.
• · Monitor market trends, completive pricing strategies, and assist Sales/Operations through the creation and modeling of solutions.
• · Establishing internal pricing requests and making recommendations to increase profitability.
• Prepare and distribute pricing performance reports tracking revenue and profit trends.
• · Provide accurate and timely responses to customer’s rate requests.
• · Recommend improvements to the various pricing processes, assist in the organization, development and evaluation of forward-thinking strategies that optimize pricing.
• · Provide upper management with ad hoc business reports
• · Knowledge and understanding of the transportation industry.

An ideal applicant should exhibit the following skill set:

· 2-5 years of experience in Transportation and/or Pricing

· Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Statistics, Math, or related field (Preferred)

· Effective oral and written communication skills

· Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail

· Proficient in data organizing in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.) and Access

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment

· Strong project management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
