The ideal candidate will possess the following: 3 – 5 years of industry knowledge and experience working on tractors, trailers, and forklifts 3 – 5 years of management or supervisory experience Strong technical and communication skills Ability to work in and develop a team atmosphere Experience and understanding of working within a budget Strong knowledge of Class 8 truck & trailer repair Knowledge of Microsoft office Excellent multitasking and organization skills Duties include, but are not limited to: Hiring, training, and development of mechanical staff Maintain efficient productivity levels Ensuring shop stays in compliance with set budget Oversight of satellite locations with a small hourly staff Managing parts inventory General maintenance and repairs on company trailers Enforce & practice all company safety procedures to ensure a safe environment Follow all D.O.T. and OSHA safety standards Universal is a leading provider of customized transportation and logistics solutions throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Colombia.
