Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. Duties
- Lead, supervise, and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care aligned with best practices in assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA.
- Oversee the management of medical records and documentation review processes using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while optimizing patient outcomes through effective nurse management strategies.
- Ensure all nursing activities adhere to medical terminology standards, physiology knowledge, anatomy principles, and nursing protocols for optimal resident health outcomes.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update resident care plans that reflect current health status and treatment goals.
- Maintain oversight of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support accurate billing practices under Medicare guidelines.
- Promote a culture of leadership within the nursing team by supervising staff performance evaluations and fostering professional development opportunities.
- Ensure all nursing operations comply with HIPAA privacy rules while maintaining efficient documentation workflows within EMR/EHR systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with demonstrated expertise in nurse management and supervising teams.
- Strong background in home health or hospice care environments is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of acute care practices, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and resident’s (personalized resident information).
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations, MDS assessments, medical records management, documentation review processes, and HIPAA compliance.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic medical records efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of supervising nursing staff effectively while fostering a positive team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure seamless shift management.
