Pay Rate: $75-$85 per session
Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with LGBTQIA communities, to provide compassionate care to our diverse patients in our residential treatment facilities located in beautiful, intimate six-bed houses in the Pasadena, San Marino and the Arcadia neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area, and our Reasons inpatient/partial hospitalization eating disorder programs at BHC Alhambra Hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Enrollment in or completion of a graduate program in Music Therapy, and/or status as a R-MT (Registered Music Therapist) or MT-BE (Music Therapist Board Certified) preferred. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline is also acceptable with relevant work experience in the field of Music Therapy.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Music Therapy.
Licensure: Preferred certification by Music Therapy Certification Board as R-MT (Registered Music Therapist) or MT-BC (Music Therapist Board Certified). Must maintain a valid California driver's license.

Job Description: The Music Therapist is responsible for teaching patients the use of music and voice within a therapeutic setting as a mechanism both for insight and for change. Music Therapy uses music, singing and sound in a psychotherapeutic context to promote emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of individuals. It focuses on expression and communication and learning adaptive skills as it emerges in the therapeutic relationship.
We provide a place of respite and reflection for men and women of all ages work through their eating disorders and discover their reasons for recovery.
