The Mental Health Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) is a licensed professional who provides basic psychiatric nursing care, behavioral support, and milieu safety interventions under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The LVN/LPT contributes to patient care by collecting data, implementing therapeutic interventions, administering medications within scope, supporting crisis management, and maintaining a safe, structured, recoveryoriented environment for patients experiencing acute or chronic psychiatric conditions.

• Collect and document objective data, including vital signs, observed behaviors, patient statements, and physical findings.
• Report changes in patient condition promptly to the RN.
• Participate in admission processes by completing LVN/LPTappropriate sections of intake documentation.

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm

Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN or LPT program.

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred
• Demonstrated competency in therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and milieu management

Licensure & Certifications:

• Current California LVN or LPT license
• Current CPR certification
• Completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training within 30 days of hire
• Successful completion of medication administration and developmental competency exams

• Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and acuity
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
