INSURANCE VERIFICATION REPRESENTATIVE - Full Time Swing Shift

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services.

Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff.

The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.

This Insurance Verification Representative position is a full time opportunity on our Patient Access department at Northwest Specialty Hospital and offers full benefits and a convenient swing shift schedule. The Insurance Verification Representativeis responsible responsible for obtaining verification of insurance benefits, eligibility, notice of admission, and precertification authorization for patients. The Insurance Verification Specialist utilizes a variety of online insurance verification tools including Experian Health tools and payer websites, maintains an ongoing knowledge of insurance plans. The specialist accurately enters benefit eligibility and precertification authorization information required for billing purposes into Invision in a timely manner and works to resolve outstanding issues prior to or on the date of service.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately enters all benefit, eligibility, and precertification authorizations information required for billing purposes on or before the patient's date of service.
• Utilizes appropriate and professional verbal communication skills when conversing with patients and other internal and external customers on the telephone and in person to convey a high level of personal attention and promote customer satisfaction.
• Accurately records and verifies all patient information when interviewing patients/representatives to assure completeness of patient records.
• *Understands and interprets the scheduling and order information, and enters patient information including ICD-10 codes, CPT codes, and procedure from the order to assure the insurance will cover the services.

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience required.
