Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Admissions Nurse - RN to join our team of professionals who are dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families for the achievement of improving their mental health. The Registered Nurse Assessment and Referral Counselor provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.

Qualifications
Education : Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferable in an inpatient setting.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed to practice by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
K nowledge: Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomatology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis behavior management.
Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM
