- Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments by matching loads with qualified carriers using transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Negotiate with carriers and clients to secure optimal pricing while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage customer relationships through inside sales efforts, providing exceptional service and support to build long-term partnerships.
- Oversee transportation planning by scheduling pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely execution while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, carrier information, and dispatch records.
- Conduct ongoing negotiations for freight pricing, capacity availability, and service levels to maximize profitability.
- Monitor transportation management systems for real-time updates, dispatching carriers efficiently while managing any issues that arise during transit.
- Support carrier sales efforts by sourcing new carriers through lead generation activities and fostering strong B2B relationships.
- Deep understanding of supply chain management principles and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Proven experience in logistics sales, freight brokerage, or dispatching within a 3PL or similar environment.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent communication abilities to manage contracts and customer relationships effectively.
- Familiarity with transportation planning, carrier sales, inside sales strategies, and account management techniques.
- Ability to generate leads through proactive outreach and develop sustainable carrier partnerships.
- Skilled in logistics sales tactics including pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and transportation sales growth initiatives.
