Multi-State Title Specialist

Please note: This is not a real estate title position.

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle and Equipment Title Specialist to manage titles for financed commercial vehicles and equipment across multiple states. This position focuses exclusively on motor vehicle and equipment titles, lien perfection and DMV requirements—not real estate or property titles.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience processing titles for a lender, lienholder, finance company, bank, dealership or title-processing service.

• Process titles for financed vehicles and equipment across multiple states.
• Ensure the company is properly listed as lienholder and its security interest is perfected.
• Review title applications, bills of sale, powers of attorney, odometer statements and manufacturer’s certificates of origin.
• Research and comply with state-specific DMV and motor vehicle agency requirements.
• Track outstanding titles and follow up with customers, dealers, vendors and state agencies.
• Process lien additions, lien releases, duplicate titles, corrected titles and ownership transfers.
• Identify missing or inaccurate documentation and coordinate necessary corrections.
• Maintain accurate title records and provide regular status updates.
• Safeguard original titles and other sensitive documents.
• Assist with title matters involving payoffs, repossessions, insurance claims and equipment sales.
• Work closely with our documentation, servicing, collections, credit and sales teams.
• Resolve complex or delayed title issues from start to finish.

• At least 2–3 years of vehicle or equipment title-processing experience.
• Experience processing titles for a lender or lienholder in multiple states.
• Knowledge of lien-perfection requirements and state DMV procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic lien and title systems and third-party title services.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and follow-through.
• Ability to research unfamiliar state requirements and solve title-related problems independently.
• Experience with commercial vehicles or equipment finance is strongly preferred.

Candidates whose experience is limited to real estate titles will not meet the requirements for this position.
