What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance Action Photographer position at Universal Event Photography?
Nation's leading quality driven cheerleading & dance photography organization is currently seeking experienced freelance action/performance photographers to join our team. Our freelance photographers capture events throughout the country however a large amount of events are located in Orlando and the Dallas/Ft Worth areas. You do not necessarily need to live in these cities in order to join our team of professional photographers.
All airfare and hotel accommodations are prepaid, the photographers do not pay for airfare or hotel accommodations. Typical weekends include flying out on Friday morning, setting up of the equipment, photographing on Saturday and Sunday, tearing down Sunday evening and returning on Monday. Some events do require photographing on Friday after the setup, or travel on Thursday if the event begins on a Friday.
Requirements:
- Photographers must have their own Windows PC laptop (not Mac) and photo equipment including (but not limited to) at least two prosumer camera bodies, a 70-200mm F/2.8 lens and a monopod. Photographers are required to use their viewfinders, not the back screen of the camera.
- Photographers' cameras must be capable of tethering to a laptop. Cameras should be elevated prosumer Nikon, Canon, or Sony systems.
- Our photographers must be professional both in work ethic and appearance. They should enjoy a team-like atmosphere, have proper knowledge of their equipment - including knowledgeable of color temperatures, exposures, fully manual settings, and the ability of achieving proper in-camera cropping.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Must have prior professional photography experience, preferably in sports, journalism, or events.
Our season of events runs from now until the end of May, with multiple events located throughout the nation each weekend.
