Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
The EH&S Manager is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Environmental, Health and Safety Management program under the direction of the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety. This role will have a primary focus on re-refining operations in Peachtree City, GA. Still, it will also provide regional and corporate-wide support to help ensure the safety of our employees and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
· Develop, implement and audit Company Environmental, Health and Safety programs.
· Conduct internal Environmental, Health and Safety audits.
· Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions and provide Environmental, Health and Safety recommendations.
· Maintain the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety training program and associated Learning Management System (LMS).
· Perform hazard assessments and other EHS evaluations. Assess risk and provide recommendations to control hazards. Develop and/or update Standard Operating Procedures according to the hazard assessment.
· Observe employees performing job tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures and retrain where needed.
· Provide daily operational support to Operations Managers and Sales Managers in areas related to Environmental, Health and Safety Management.
· Conduct incident investigations and participate in employee incident reviews for Environmental, Health and Safety incidents and near-misses.
· Analyze incident data to identify trends.
· Monitor Environmental, Health, and Safety performance metrics.
· Maintain awareness of current OSHA, EPA, and State Agency regulations.
· Coordinate or perform compliance inspections and/or sample collection.
· Prepare and submit Environmental Reports related to Air, Water and Waste.
· Conduct audits on third party Treatment, Storage and Disposal locations.
· Perform related duties and participate as needed in special projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge / Skill Requirements
· Working knowledge of MS office applications.
· Ability to work independently as well as within groups to meet established demand and timelines.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
· Proficient in English, spelling, and arithmetic.
· Excellent planning and organizational skills.
· Ability to travel as needed 25%-50%, overnight stays may be required.
· Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances covering Environmental, Health, and Safety regulatory standards, including but not limited to, OSHA General Industry, Lab Safety, Confined Space, HAZWOPER, NPDES, Hazardous Waste, Used Oil, and other Federal, State and Local regulations.
· Demonstrate sound judgment and follow timely incident reporting, follow-up, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
· Must adhere to company safety standards.
Qualifications
· 5-10 years or more experience in environmental, health and safety, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
· Degree in environmental, health, and safety management, occupational health, or a related science.; however, extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
· Certifications are a plus (CSP, CIH, PE, CEP, CHMM etc.)
· Experience with refinery operations, hazardous materials management, waste transportation, oil collection operations, and risk management is a plus.
· Clean driving record, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
· Ability to work outdoors and in industrial settings.
· Intermittent physical activity including standing, lifting, bending, reaching, climbing (stairs, ladders) walking and driving.
· Ability to occasionally work 2nd or 3rd shift hours.
· If not located within a commutable distance to the Peachtree City re-refinery, expect to travel and be onsite one (1) week per month and additionally as needed. Occasional travel to other UES facilities.
· Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as appropriate to the location and activity.
