Universal Electric is looking for an experienced Service Manager to facilitate continued growth of the company. The position reports directly to company executives and will operate semi-autonomously. The qualified candidate will be capable of stepping in and leading all aspects of the Service Department as well as managing small projects. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Developing and implementing Service Dept. protocols and practices to include:
- Regular business development activities
- Jobsite reporting standards
- New Service Dept. employee onboarding processes
- Project delivery from lead through closeout
- Identify business development opportunities with the goal of expanding Department revenue and client base
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets
- Distribute workforce resources among jobs as needs demand in conjunction
- Compile pricing for projects under, generally $50k and smaller
- Oversee a team of Service Techs
- Provide support to techs as needed
- Oversee billings and receivables
- Procurement for Service Dept. projects
- Implement a paperless work order system
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in electrical construction management or service department management (any trade, not electrical specific)
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Estimating project costs and timelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required
