Outside Sales Representative
Location: Primarily Lakewood, NJ & surrounding areas (travel throughout NJ/NY tri-state area, including NYC) Employment Type: Full-time
About Us
Universal Cabinet Design is a fast-growing kitchen design and cabinetry company, known for high-quality products and an honest, transparent sales process. We’re looking for a driven Outside Sales Representative to expand our network of contractors, developers, and designers, and generate new business opportunities.
Position Overview
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for bringing in new business through relationship-building, prospecting, and networking. This role is heavily focused on sales development - identifying opportunities, setting up meetings, and handing off leads to our in-house designers to close. Occasionally, the rep may be asked to perform on-site measurements to help advance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development
- Proactively prospect and network with general contractors, developers, designers, and homeowners.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships that generate ongoing business.
- Promote Universal Cabinet Design’s services and value proposition in meetings and presentations.
- Consistently hand off qualified leads to internal designers for follow-up and closing.
Client & Trade Engagement
- Schedule and attend meetings with trade partners and clients.
- Represent UCD at job sites, industry events, and networking opportunities.
- Provide exceptional client interaction that reinforces UCD’s reputation.
Field Support (Minimal)
- Conduct kitchen/site measurements when necessary to support sales opportunities.
- Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain accurate records of leads, meetings, and pipeline activity in CRM.
- Work closely with internal sales/design team to ensure smooth handoff and follow-through.
Qualifications
- Preferred, 2 years of proven success in sales, business development, or account management (construction, cabinetry, or related industry a plus).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong prospecting ability with a hunter mentality.
- Comfortable traveling daily within NJ and NY; reliable transportation required.
- Ability to learn cabinetry basics and perform accurate measurements (training provided)
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and organized.
