This posting is intended only for individuals who have been contacted by a USF department, area chair, director, or USF Human Resources and conditionally offered a part-time adjunct instructor role, contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, credential verification, and other onboarding documentation.

The University of Sioux Falls is pleased to extend conditional adjunct teaching appointments to qualified individuals who have been invited (by USF) to teach a specific course or serve in an instructional capacity.

General Position Summary
Adjunct instructors at USF are contracted on a term-by-term basis to teach on-ground or, in some cases, online courses. Teaching assignments are based on departmental needs and course availability.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in the appropriate field required; doctoral degree preferred
• Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a traditional university setting
• Commitment to academic excellence and the integration of faith and learning within a Christian liberal arts environment
• Must reside in South Dakota, or if residing outside of South Dakota adjunct must teach on-ground class(es) for USF

1. Background Check

• You will receive an email from our third-party vendor (on behalf of USF HR/Payroll) with a link to complete your background check.
• The background check must be completed and returned to USF HR before you can begin teaching.

2. Submit Required Documents

To help expedite the hiring process, please upload the following items as soon as possible (you may submit them while your background check is in progress):

• Letter of application outlining your qualifications and teaching interests
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Statement of Christian faith
• Contact information for at least three professional references familiar with your teaching or academic work

3. Final Onboarding

Once your background check, credential verification, and other employment documentation are complete and approved, you will receive additional onboarding materials from usfpayroll@usiouxfalls.edu via DocuSign, if required.
