Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at UnityPoint Health - Jones Regional Medical Center (JRMC). As a leader in community health care, JRMC provides exceptional patient care and is committed to improving the health of the people and communities we serve.
The successful candidate will be responsible for examining patients, obtaining medical histories, performing systems reviews, and administering discipline- and age-specific tests and measures to obtain data. They will also evaluate patients, make clinical judgments, develop patient diagnoses or problem lists, and develop patient prognoses.
In collaboration with patients and families, the Speech-Language Pathologist will develop plans of care with measurable goals, implement patient interventions, provide patient and family education and training, and complete required patient care documentation and communication.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. A strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care and a passion for working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Examines patients/clients, obtains history, performs a systems review, and selects and administers discipline- and age-specific tests and measures to obtain data (70%)
- Evaluates patients/clients, makes clinical judgments based on data gathered during the examination (20%)
- Develops patient/client diagnoses or problem lists, develops patient/client prognoses, and in collaboration with patient or family develops plans of care with measurable goals (10%}
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of employment
- Ability to maintain current certifications and licenses required for the position
