We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) to join our OB/GYN clinic located in Des Moines, IA. The RN will work collaboratively with our team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across a range of obstetric and gynecologic services. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessments, education, and triage in an OB/GYN setting.
- Support providers with in-office procedures (e.g., colposcopies, IUD insertions, biopsies).
- Administer medications and injections, including vaccines and hormone therapies, as prescribed.
- Assist with prenatal care, postpartum follow-ups, and routine gynecologic visits.
- Educate patients about reproductive health, pregnancy, contraception, and preventive care.
- Triage patient phone calls and messages, assessing urgency and coordinating appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with front desk and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
- Participate in ongoing staff education, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa (required).
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong interest or experience in women's health
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
