The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides expert respiratory care to a diverse patient population across inpatient and outpatient settings, ranging from neonates to adults. Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate respiratory therapies and diagnostic testing while maintaining equipment, documenting accurately, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy to patients of all ages.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Perform diagnostic tests, administer treatments, and monitor patient progress.
- Respond promptly to critical situations, ensuring safe and effective care.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment use.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Education:
- Must be a graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Program
- Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Iowa
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
