Responsibilities
- Provide advanced life support (ALS) care in prehospital and transport settings
- Assess, monitor, and treat patients in emergency situations using appropriate clinical judgment
- Administer medications, manage airways, initiate IV/IO access, and perform ECG interpretation
- Safely transport patients while maintaining continuous monitoring and documentation of care
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, medical control, receiving facilities, and team members Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and transport details
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and ambulance readiness at all times
- Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and continuing education activities
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Paramedic training programrequired
- PreviousEMS experience preferred
- Paramedic certification (state-specific) required upon hire
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days
- Mandatory Reporter training (child and dependent adult abuse) required within 90 days
- National Registry Paramedic (NREMT) and/or PHTLS certification preferred
