Provide efficient and accurate answering, messaging or routing of all incoming telephone traffic to testing department, billing department, medical technical consultant and management. Responsibilities
The Laboratory Support Technician (LST) processes laboratory specimens for testing, evaluates specimen acceptability, enters patient and test information into the computer, and responds to requests for information from customers. This position serves in the Laboratory's main communication and customer relations center. The employee monitors test requests in the order/entry system. This position contributes directly to patient care by accurately and timely processing specimens and dispersing information both in and outside the Laboratory.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Training as a unit clerk, medical assistant, medical secretary, or phlebotomist is preferred. Coursework in biology and/or chemistry is considered.
Experience:
No Experience Is Required.
Previous employment in a medical setting, in computer operations, and/or with telephone demands is preferred.

Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
