- Established specialty practice serving the Cedar Rapids community
- Full-time position
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
- Full time position Monday – Friday
- Required one weekend per month of call
- Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient patients, covering both St. Luke’s and Mercy hospitals
- Specialty skills: Medication management, bacterial infections (staph, MSSA), HIV, travel related vaccines, TB
- Work in collaboration with the Infectious Disease Physician
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certified
- Required experience either as a provider or as a nurse working in infectious disease, wounds, complex management of patients with medications. Biology/lab background.
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
