UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.
- Full-time, benefit eligible Emergency Medicine opportunity at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital and Marshalltown Hospital
- Stable group of experienced providers
- Nursing staff with specialty training in providing emergency adult and pediatric care, as well as in trauma and resuscitation.
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
Allen Hospital
- Shift duration varies
- Staffing Model: Physician coverage 40 hours daily, APP coverage 36 hours daily
- Physician: 0700-1600, 1000-2000, 1500-2400 and 1900-0700
- APP: 0600-1800, 1800-0600 and 1200-2400
- Variety of shifts per day
- 204 bed Hospital with access to all specialties
- 31 Bed ED
- Level 3 Trauma Center
- 2-dedicated trauma rooms
- 5 bed restricted access behavioral health area
- Designated primary stroke center
- Average 98 ED visits daily, 36,000 annually
- Shift duration: 12 hours
- Staffing Model: Physician coverage 24 hours daily, APP coverage 24 hours daily
- Physician: 0800-2000 and 2000-0800
- APP: 1000-2200 and 1200-2400
- 70 Bed Hospital
- 16 Bed ED including 4 ligature safe rooms for behavioral health patients
- Level 4 Trauma Center
- Average 55 ED visits daily
- Hospital based ambulance service
- On call- specialties include Surgery, Ortho, and Podiatry
- RT available 24/7
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certified
- Experience preferred
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certified
- Experience preferred
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
