Responsibilities:- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing using proper patient identification, labeling, and collection standards.
- Assist with complex phlebotomy situations and maintain professional patient and staff interactions.
- Obtain basic vital signs after completing required competency (no immunizations, medication dispensing, or procedure assistance).
- Accurately document clinical and laboratory information in the electronic health record.
- Conduct quality control, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and proficiency testing as required.
- Apply knowledge of specialty procedures and test values to determine appropriate next steps within scope.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required in complex CLIA labs).

If CMA - Valid and current certification in the state of Iowa for Medical Assisting
- Accredited program plus certification through: (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, NCMA, NAHP, AAH, ARMA or NHCA)
- Phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy certification
- Direct patient care or certification for MA, LPN, RN a plus!
