Full-time Temporary Position w/ a projected start date of May 20, 2024
The position is for a specific and limited period of time not to exceed 6 months. The Intern is responsible for special projects including development, research, and management as assigned by the Senior Team and attends meetings and events, assisting as needed. The assignments selected by the Senior Team are designed to meet the developmental needs of the Intern and the business needs of the organization. Successful accomplishment of this role will improve the service and quality of patient care as well as positively impact the financial performance, growth potential of the areas of responsibility and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities
• Regularly attends senior team, medical staff, board meetings and other meetings as assigned by a member of the Senior Team and also serves on various project teams.
• Leads, coordinates, develops and performs specific projects as assigned by the Senior Team.
• Assists the Senior Team, as needed, in a liaison role between the medical staff and the Senior Team for communication, meetings, project work, etc.
• Serves as a representative of UPHDM on various internal and external committees, supporting the patient care and services for the community.
• Present to the Senior Team or Board of Directors on a project that was completed during the internship.
• Seeks experiences that provide exposure to various operational and non-operational areas within the region and system.
• Conducts informational interviews with leaders from various areas to build relationships and learn about the organization’s culture.
• Pursues shadowing opportunities to connect with frontline staff.
Qualifications
Education: Participating in a health care leadership related degree program with an accredited college. Scheduled to complete final year of degree within 12 months following internship.
License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of strategic corporate development, planning, marketing, corporate communications, public relations, finance and delivery of health care services.
