Director of Finance And Accounting

Unity Search has partnered with a company in the Mansfield area, (southeast of DFW), in their search for a Director of Finance and Accounting. This role will be a senior financial leader responsible for driving financial strategy, planning, and performance across the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role oversees the Controller and accounting team while owning FP&A, cash management, and strategic decision support. This individual partners closely with leadership to improve profitability, manage growth, and build the financial infrastructure needed to scale the business to future goals.

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
• 7–12 years of progressive finance/accounting experience
• Experience leading finance functions in construction, landscaping, or field service industries strongly preferred
• Strong background in FP&A, cash flow management, and operational finance
• Experience overseeing accounting teams and working closely with company leaders
• Deep understanding of job costing, WIP, and project-based financials
• Proven ability to build financial models and translate data into actionable insights
• Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering skills
• Experience scaling processes and systems in a growing organization
• High level of ownership, accountability, and strategic thinking
