Unity Search is partnering with a fast-growing technology client in Las Colinas that’s hiring a Senior Accounts Payable Manager to lead and oversee the full spectrum of accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices, employee reimbursements, and vendor payments. This role is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening internal controls, and supporting financial close activities while fostering strong relationships with vendors and internal partners.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable team, including invoice entry, payment processing, expense reimbursements, and vendor record management.
- Ensure all transactions are properly authorized, accurately coded, and in line with company policy and GAAP standards.
- Supervise preparation and approval of payment batches, including ACH and wire transfers.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate vendor information, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements (e.g., 1099, W-9, VAT, GST).
- Review and approve AP accruals, prepaid accounts, and reconciliations during month-end and year-end close cycles.
- Confirm that accounts payable balances are correctly reflected in the general ledger.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team to achieve high performance and professional growth.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, including SOX where applicable.
- Partner with Procurement, Treasury, and other departments to streamline Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Analyze AP trends and provide insights on cash management, working capital, and payment strategies.
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to measure AP team performance and service levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting designation preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing Accounts Payable.
- Experience in a mid-to-large corporate setting or shared service environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS and internal control frameworks (SOX compliance experience a plus).
- Advanced ERP system proficiency (e.g., SAP, Workday) and strong Excel/data analysis capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven experience driving process improvements and leveraging automation.
