Position Summary: The Senior Manager of Supply Chain & Distribution provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s end-to-end supply chain functions, including procurement, shipping & receiving, print house operations, and publishing distribution. This role ensures that materials, products, and services are sourced cost-effectively, processed efficiently, and delivered with excellence to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions:
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to support organizational goals.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure quality, service, and cost effectiveness.
- Oversee purchasing policies, compliance, and reporting.
- Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and partnerships.
Shipping & Receiving
- Supervise team functions for all inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of goods and materials.
- Partner with facilities and finance on inventory management and cost control.
- Implement and monitor shipping standards to optimize delivery performance.
Print House Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the internal print house, including production schedules, resource allocation, and quality control among direct reports.
- Ensure equipment, materials, and processes support cost-effective, high-quality output.
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, and other departments to align print projects with organizational needs.
Publishing Distribution
- Manage fulfillment and distribution of published materials (books, devotionals, magazines, calendars, etc.).
- Maintain distribution channels, inventory tracking, and customer service standards.
- Ensure compliance with postal/shipping regulations and industry best practices.
- Partner with sales, marketing, and customer care teams to support demand planning and product delivery.
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide leadership to a cross-functional team across procurement, logistics, and production/distribution.
- Develop and manage budgets, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and technology adoption.
- Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent work experience (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisor experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or distribution.
- Experience managing production/fulfillment functions (print, publishing, or similar) strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP, supply chain, and logistics management systems.
