Unity Preparatory Charter School is seeking a High School Director of Operations to ensure our school runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently every day. In this high-impact leadership role, you'll oversee all aspects of school operations - from facilities, technology and student meals to events, family communication, student transportation and campus safety - while leading a team of eight (4 operations staff, 2 custodians, 2 security associates and several contracted support vendors).
What You'll Do:
- Lead daily operations: scheduling, facilities, safety, transportation, purchasing, and inventory.
- Supervise and develop a team of 8, ensuring excellence in service, safety, and efficiency.
- Oversee building maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness by coordinating with custodians and managing external vendors for specialized work (electricity, plumbing, HVAC, repairs).
- Ensure exceptional communication with staff, families, and community partners.
- Partner with school leaders to align operations with academic goals.
Who You Are:
- Experienced in school or nonprofit operations (3 years) with strong team leadership and vendor management skills. Highly organized, solutions-focused, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong communicator who builds positive relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- Committed to equity, inclusion, and student success.
- Candidates with an advanced degree and fluency in Spanish preferred.
