The Senior Client Accountant serves as a key financial partner to homeowner’s associations managed by the company. This role is responsible for overseeing association financial operations, supporting community managers and boards of directors, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for a portfolio of HOA clients.
This position is highly customer-facing and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. The role guarantees adherence to the established GAAP guidelines in all tasks.
What Winning Looks Like:
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned HOA portfolios
- Ensure accuracy of balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules
- Monitor association operating and reserve accounts
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reports, and statements.
- Coordinate with Community Managers regarding financial activity and board requests
- Attend board or finance committee meetings as needed to present financials
- Respond to board member and homeowner financial inquiries professionally and timely
- Provide financial guidance and support to community managers.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and financial planning
- Maintain organized financial records for all associations
- Maintain banking documentation and compliance requirements
- Monitor cash balances and investment maturities
- Coordinate transfers between operating and reserve accounts
- Open and manage association bank and CD accounts
- Supervise and support one direct report responsible for transactional accounting tasks
- Review work for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with process improvements and workflow efficiencies
- Support annual audits, tax preparation, and CPA requests
- Ensure adherence to HOA governing documents and financial policies
- Maintain organized financial records for all associations
- Follow internal accounting controls and best practices
- Perform other finance duties as needed or assigned
Skills Needed to Win:
- Required Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
- Must have 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of financial statements and reconciliations
- Customer-service mindset with professional communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- HOA or property management accounting experience
- Experience working with multiple client accounts or portfolios
- Banking or cash-management experience

The range for this role considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certification, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are based on the facts and circumstances of each case. The current range is a reasonable estimate.
